Katherine Thomson

D.D.S, MS

As a San Diego native, Dr. Thomson studied Chemistry at UCSD obtaining her BS and MS, dental school at UCLA and post graduate endodontic residency at USC. At UCLA School of Dentistry, Dr. Thomson received special recognition in restorative dentistry, and continued her training at a Hospital Based General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Long Beach. Shortly after, she returned back to her home town of San Diego and practiced as a general dentist providing comprehensive dental care to our community for over 8 years. Dr. Thomson then went on to obtained her Endodontic specialty training at USC, where she held the title of Chief Resident among 20 colleagues. She also spent time at our local Salk Institute and Scripps Center for Oceanography as part of her post graduate education.

Dr. Thomson now resides in La Jolla with her husband and two children. She enjoys participating in many outdoor activities including running, hiking, and most water sports. And she is proud to say she recently summited both Half Dome and Mount Whitney in the same year. Dr. Thomson is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society.

Jenny Huang

D.D.S

Dr. Jenny Huang was born and raised in San Diego. She graduated cum laude with BS degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of San Diego, CA (UCSD). During her undergraduate years, Dr. Huang volunteered at the UCSD Student-Run Free-Dental Clinics and fell in love with dentistry. She received her DDS degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and graduated with honors. In addition, Dr. Huang has received the American College of Dentists Outstanding Achievement Award and is considered a University of California Regent’s Scholar. She went on to continue her training by completing an extensive one-year General Practice Residency at the VA San Diego in La Jolla. Dr. Huang completed her post-graduate endodontic residency at Texas A&M College of Dentistry.

Dr. Huang’s primary goals are to save teeth and to ensure patient comfort. She understands that root canals have a negative reputation and patients may be scared. Her philosophy is to help patients understand the root canal process, get patients out of pain and help them achieve optimum oral wellness. Dr. Huang’s practice is driven by her desire to
make the root canal process a better experience for all. When not spending time in the office, Dr. Huang loves spending time with her husband and Corgi, Loki. She enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time outdoors and eating at the latest restaurants.
